It is here !!!
YAY !!!
http://abc.go.com/primetime/dancingwiththestars/index?pn=bio  is the official website with all the contestants for this year.

I am sitting here watching the first show. So far I am in love with Ian Zeiring with his partner Cheryle Burke. Cheryle won the past 2 Dancing With The Stars shows. She and Ian are a great couple and looked great together.

Next up was Billy Ray Cyrus. Sorry, but this poor country boy needs to stay in Kentucky <g>. He can't dance for crap. I was actually a huge fan of his when he first started singing. I will admit to falling out of love when he started playing around on his marriage. Still did not like his dancing regardless.

We had Leeza Gibbons. She looks fabulous for her age. I have always liked her personality. She did try with her dancing, but she was soooo stiff. And she was slow and jerky. Poor girl needs to relax. She has a very strong partner to help her.

We had Paulina Porizkova who is a professional model. I liked her. She was very graceful though a bit nervous. But I still thought she did a good job considering she has never danced. Kudos!

I just finished watching Laila Ali. Her partner is Maksim Chmerkovskiy. These two really were a good match. He is a strong man and of course she is the daughter of Mohammed Ali. They did good I thought. Not completely classic, but still very good. I figured this has to be hard on Laila. She is used to leaning forward with power and ready to spring. In dancing she has to keep a posture the tends to lean more away and keep her area out and away. LOL---she has trained her entire life to keep her arms close to her body :)

Well, the first show is over. My wish is to see Heather Mills go. And if not her, then poor Billy Ray Cyrus needs to return to his new sitcom he is on with his daughter :)

Results night tonight. Who will go home?
I have to admit, I missed most of the show. I had to watch my #1 favorite show, HOUSE, instead. Curses for putting them against each other. However House was a great episode. As usual. I love that show!

There is a pretty good blog going on over Heather Mills. The judges, for the most part, are being incredibly kind to her. Sympathy votes is pretty much how to sum it up. Her dancing has not gotten any better. Her partner does all the work while she stands there. But there is one thing that was mentioned and it was spot on.

For those that watched last year, you know that Mario Lopez could not get a break the first 3 weeks. The judges were horrible to him and complained he did not respect the dance. He added acrobatic moves that pissed them off. Okay, fair enough. But Heather Mills did a back walk over. Impressive if this was Gymnastics With The Stars. But it is not. And a similar move by both Maria and Joey last year got them raked across the coals. Yet Heather gets "OMG that was amazing".

These people need to be fair in their critiques. I agree it is not fair to tell her she needs to point her toes. Duh. But come on! She has proven she can do everything else required. So start judging her fairly.

Dancing With The Stars Results - Leeza Gibbons & Tony Dovolani Eliminated
April 10, 2007

Tony is the guy who was paired with Sara Evans last year and is the one Sara's ex-husband was trying to say she had an affair with. Oh yea, while he was making time on the side of his own hmm.

Dancing With The Stars Results -  Clyde Drexler and Elena Grinenko eliminated
April 17, 2007

This has definitely been one of the most odd couples we have seen so far. Clyde seems awfully sweet, but needs to never set foot on a dance floor again :)

Former NBA shooting guard Clyde Austin Drexler was born on June 22, 1962 in New Orleans, Louisiana. He is a graduate of Sterling High School in Houston and was a student of the University of Houston, where he was a member of the basketball fraternity Phi Slama Jama. He greatly contributed to the Cougars appearances in the 1982 and 1983 NCAA Final Four. Drexler made it into the NBA when he was drafted by the Portland Trail Blazers in 1983. His and the teams tremendous efforts led them to win the 1990 and 1992 NBA Finals. Also in 1992, Drexler was chosen to become a player for the U.S. Olympic basketball team, The Dream Team, which subsequently went on to capture the gold medal in Barcelona. In 1995, Drexler asked to be traded into Houston Rockets, and his presence proved beneficial for the team, as they won the 1995 NBA Finals. He retired from the NBA in 1998 and became the head coach at University of Houston. In 2004, he was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.

Our contestants danced last night. Please please please send poor Billy Ray Cyrus back to his TV show. He doesn't really want to be there. He can't dance and he won't stop telling everyone he can't dance. Okay, we get it. You can't dance!

And TV Gods, if you do not see fit to show the exit to Billy, could you please at least put us out of our misery and oust Heather Mills? She was awful last night. She is getting worse and now is complaining she has to fly back and forth to London because of her personal committments. I feel sorry for her partner to be honest. He has to worry about her leg and also has to follow her all over the globe to try and sneak in some rehearsal time.

John Ratzenberger is not a great dancer. And he will not win. But I love him! He has a great personality, he is taking this seriously and he is really trying. I won't fault him that he can't swing his ample hips. He makes up for it in intensity and honest hard effort. Kudos to the casting department for finding us at least one older male contestant each year that still entertains the daylights out of us.

Laila Ali and Maksim Chmerkovskiy were hot last night. Laila impresses me more each week. She is a real woman with real curves and involved in a sport that more strength training versus being artistic. She is trained to have minimal moves when dancing requires everything to almost be exaggerated. And as I have said before, she is used to having a closed body but in dancing she must always be wide open. Laila gives this 100% and it shows. She really really is a competitor whom I am sure has the respect of all the other dancers. I think her father must be very proud of his youngest daughter.

I thought Joey Fatone and Kym Johnson did great last night. They usually do. It is obvious he is enjoying himself. And I think it is great he is being so incredibly creative with the routines and costumes.

Ian Ziering and Cheryl Burke were great last night. I will agree that even I noticed his frame sucked during most of his dance. However he was trying to seriously be into character, and he was. I think he really tried hard and had listened to their earlier critiques given. I was glad the judges were a bit more generous with their scores than I thought they would be. I get the feeling they really like Ian and are trying to push him to go where they are confident he can go.

We now get to what is now my FAVORITE couple in the competition:
Apolo Anton Ohno and Julianne Hough
These two kids are hot!! HOT HOT HOT HOT. He is the only male competitor that can actually do the splits which shows in how much of a stride he has on the dance floor. He is doing great and seems to have natural talent. At his age, I don't think he ever even drove past and Arther Murray studio let alone enter one :)

Dancing With The Stars Results -  Heather Mills and Jonathan Roberts eliminated
April 24, 2007

Heather Mills knew it was coming. For a first in the short history of the show, she had a speech all prepared. She actually had a large piece of paper, stashed in the bra of her costume. Heather whips this thing about and starts to read it. Poor Tom tried to stop her. Every time he cut her off, she started reading again. He finally had to say "save that for a different venue" or something like that.

Now Heather can get onto the really important issue of divorcing Paul McCartney and enraging the British public against her. I am sure she was hoping she would find a haven here in the US. But I predict that by next week people will be saying "Heather who?".

Dancing With The Stars Results - John Ratzenberger and Edyta Sliwinska eliminated
May 1, 2007

We knew it would happen, but it still was a bit tearful. What a guy! John gave it his all and really tried every single week. I have enjoyed watching him dance with Edyta. Personally I think Billy Ray should have gone before him, but I knew it would be between these two.

John, kudos to you! You are a team player and delight to watch. A great sport with a positive attitude. I have missed you on Cheers and was thrilled to be able to reconnect with you once again! Now keep up the wonderful voice work with Pixar. Luv ya !

Dancing With The Stars Results Ian Ziering and  Cheryl Burke Eliminated
May 15, 2007

I was working and missed this show. But judging from the dancing only the day before, I would agree with this decision. Taking nothing away from Ian and Cheryl of course. I have LOVED watching them dance! I am thrilled they made it to the final 4.
