FYI......Bee Stings can be deadly

Bee sings can be deadly....
Our boxer Stevie, had just returned home from a walk with Gary, my DH....
He was drinking water, then looked like he wanted to lay down, circling.....
I was not home to see this.
Gary took Stevie by the collar, because in circling, he was off kilter...
He took him by his collar and was leading him up the stairs to our deck...when his back legs gave out....
Gary picked him up and brought him in the house, where keeled over...his gums were white....
In his arms, he ran to the car, called the vet....Kim, our vet was standing outside, with two techs...Gary carried Stella into the back room...running.....later they told me that they thought Gary was going to be the next patient.
They put him on oxygen....Gary drove home to get me....told me to just get in the car, explained what went on...
We got to the vet, I couldn't believe that I could run so fast, they put is in a room, while they were X raying his heart....
When they let us in the back room, he looked like a Sharpie, he was so swollen, he had a deadly reaction to a bee sting...had Gary not been by his side...he would have died with in about 20 minutes....
Thank God, his life was spared....(our other boxer Stella had a massive heart attack in front of us this past Sunday, June 14th...we are still raw)
We stayed in the cage with him for over an hour, until he was completely stabilized....then we left...and picked him up tonight...
He's his old bouncy self.....
What a day.

Nancy & Steve....
(I have not wanted to change the photo of Bob and Stella....in time I will)

I am glad your story has a happy ending. The same thing happened to my Brandi at only 6 months old. I completely understand the panic and the fears :(

No need to change your photo if you do not wish to. I happen to like it :)

Thank goodness Gary was there and able to immediately get Stevie to the Vet's Office.

They say an average person can be killed by at least 500 bee stings, I wonder how many can take out a boxer.
