VANCOUVER, Wash. - Someone hanged a puppy from a tree in Vancouver, killing the 4-month-old pit bull, and now police are trying to identify the killer.
Owner Totiana Hayes found the puppy - named Hercules - suspended from the tree in her backyard on East 18th Street two weeks ago.
She had left the puppy and its dad, Zeus, tied up outside in the yard while she was gone, something she said she rarely does.
Someone snuck in and hanged the dog, and the next day she found a letter in her mailbox addressed to her dogs. It said the dogs' owners should take better care of the dogs and that they cry all night and were going to be reported.
It was unclear Thursday if that letter was connected to the puppy's death. Police were dusting it for fingerprints and interviewing neighbors.
"I don't know what kind of person it was that did this or even why because there's not enough whining an animal could do in this world for me to even pass the thought of killing an animal," she said.
Hayes believes someone killed Hercules simply because he was a pit bull. And had Zeus not been so big, she believes he may have been killed as well.

That's unbelievable, I can't even imagine how heartless and twisted a person has to be for them to harm a puppy, or any animal for that matter, let alone hang one.
I swear... there has got to be an extra special, super bad Hell for people like this (and child molestors). IMHO regular Hell can't possibly be bad enough to make them pay for hurting innocent beings. And people wonder why I hate the human race... individuals I like, but humans as a whole are a complete waste of resources and oxygen, IMO. Stories like this make me soooooo angry I can barely stand it... it is why I do not watch the Animal Cops shows... I just can't deal with all that anger and no outlet.
Hug your babiez, and always keep them safe... you just never know.

I know this lady. There is a dog park across the street that she would bring her pit bulls to. So friendly and so cute. They wouldn't hurt a fly. I feel so horrible for her!!!
There is so much fear out there over dogs. It is because of this I have always tried to have my Boxers in the public eye so people can at least have a good experience with the Boxer. The Golden Gate Kennel Club benched dog show is an ideal setting to help educate the public.
I'm speechless....and horrified that somebody would actually do that....I hope karma bites them in the butt, and they get to be tortured somehow....nice and slow torture...very slow death for them, thats my wish....
Today, I had Stella at the dog beach, she was playing with this very sweet female white pit......so friendly....so playful, they played for about a half an hour.....
