Hi,I'm Debi.  Hubby and I live in Spencer,Ok (10 East of OKCity) I'm in the process of buying our 1st Boxer. biggrin He's a flashy brindle and his name will be Harley.  He's just now 1 month old so not ready to come to his new home.  I'm going to have Lots of questions, especially for owners in the OKC area.  I need to find a Vet!!  Would like to have his ears cropped and I want a reputable, experienced doctor

Thanks for everything.

Welcome Debi and soon to be Harli.  Can't wait to see some pics of the little darlin'.  When it comes to ear cropping you need to do your homework.  Find a reputable vet to do it (they can be difficult to find), I suggest checking through your nearest Boxer Club.  You also need to be sure you understand and are prepared for all the after care.  It is not just the surgery that makes for beautiful erect ears... it is weeks to months of taping, posting, stretching, etc.  I have no problem with cropped ears mind you, I just hate to see it done when the owner has no clue about the after care involved, which means the surgery is a waste of time, money, and discomfort for the puppy.

Welcome! I would say to contact the Boomer Boxer Club via their website for a vet referral for ear cropping. Though I am surprised your breeder cannot give a recommendation. Typically such an important issue would be helped by the breeder you bought him from. A responsible breeder wants to be there for you and your puppy far past the money exchanging hands. So do not feel strange about relying on them for help.

Ear cropping will not make the ears stand. It takes the aftercare for that. And that is another area your breeder should be invaluable :)

I have mentioned this to my breeder. She is over 150 miles from us and doesn't know the OKCity area, although she did say that she would ask her Vet for her recommendations.  I understand that the surgery isn't the end of it,that there's a Lot that depends on us.  I have sent an email to the Boomer Boxer Club, still waiting for a response.   I'm looking forward to learning from you folks and thank you for your warm welcomes and great advice!

I will be in that area on May 24th and 25th for a judging assignment. The Boomer Boxer Club Specialty is May 24th so feel free to come on over and say Hello to me :)
