I had never expected to be writing a tribute to one of my own pets, so soon. Sadly, I must. Ramses, noisey, demanding, loving, bratty, beautiful gray DLH, and one of my Fab Felines met a sudden, tragic end on Sunday evening. Mauled by my foster dog Zoey, he died about an hour later at the ER Vet. He is now at peace. I am trying to put the attack behind me, and remember Ramses in the 12 years prior to it....
He was always the cat that stuff happened to... Getting his whiskers singed off by a candle, unknowingly getting shut in the clothes dryer for a few tumbles, getting sat on, on the toilet while he was getting a drink... and on and on. I will miss his demanding meows, head butting for attention or food. His brother Osiris misses him also, crying all night for him. Time, I'm sure, will ease both our pain and longing, but it will not erase the memory of Ramses. Godspeed sweet Rams... I am forever sorry and I will never forget you. Enjoy the Rainbow Bridge, until we meet again one day.
