I will post two sets of topics to cover the events. This topic will cover Brandi's big adventure.
Brandi's first airplane ride was Sunday morning early. It was also her first elevator ride when we were in the airport. We flew out of SFO at 7am. Arrived in Cincinnatti at 2:30pm. Rob Snyder met me at the airport to help me with my luggage and Brandi. He and Phylis had arrived at the host hotel the day before.
Rob drove me to the hotel. I left Brandi with them in a run (they had their motorhome) and went to check in. I got settled into my room and went over to visit with Rob and Phylis. Of course we had ****tails while we enjoyed the lovely afternoon. I walked Brandi all over the place and then settled her into our room. There was a hospitality room Sunday night which I never miss. Food, ****tails and meeting up with friends. Best way to spend the evening. My roommate arrived late that evening. She made a 12 hour drive to the hotel from her home in Oklahoma. She brought snacks, a cooler and a microwave. YAY!
Judging started Monday. Brandi was not being shown until Tuesday. I brought her over for Wendy Bettis to see. All seemed good to Wendy and I was actually sent back with no homework. Very good thing...LOL!
I won't go into details about the week. Far too much activities to type about. Brandi showed in Futurity on Tuesday. She had a good time and was a bit fidgety which I expected. But her tail was always wagging. She showed Thursday for the Specialty. She showed great! Wendy and her obviously struck a deal. Her class was so huge they had to judge it in 2 sets. While Brandi did not get a placement, I truly was happy with how she showed. She held it together great for a youngster and always had her tail wagging.
I had the pleasure of spending time with Willie B and Rachel Osborne. Willie B is her seeing eye Boxer. He is a very handsome white boy which I proudly co-bred with Rob and Phylis Snyder. His mom is my very own Delilah, Ch PawPrint's Seduction. I also met up with so many friends, both new and old. It all becomes a blur at some point. I had Brandi's portrait taken so I can't wait to get it to share.
We came back home last Friday. Best of Breed judging went on until 1pm and I had to be to the airport at 2:30pm. Major rush! Best of Breed was incredible. A dog I have never seen before won, and he deserved it. WOW was all I could say, over and over again. A balanced lovely brindle boy whom was owner/breeder handled by Ginny Shames. Truly a deserving Breed winner.
Brandi took the airplane ride back great. She bounced out of the crate and was thrilled to see her daddy. Penny was of course thrilled to see her baby. Hubby said the house was very quiet.....................hehehehe.
