Hi everyone! I have a 2 1/2 year old boxer female and she is the sweetest thingin thte world but she is very dominate. My husband and I are getting a male on friday. And he is the same age as her. Should they get along great? ore will her being so dominate make them fight??? She has been around alot of dogs and has never fought or anything, the worse this she does is start humping them. Well thank you if you can help...we are so excited for his arrival...I think she will do good. :)
Hello :) What will help is if your female is spayed. If not, you need to spay her immediately. And I am hoping the male is neutered. If not, then he should be neutered immediately.
One of the top reasons dogs fight is over hormones. I can attest that once I spayed my girl, she seriously calmed down. Typically she would be testy and very hormonal during her seasons. And as she got older, it got worse.
Now she is a big old pussy cat :)
