Here's my dilema,I want to know the pros or cons to chaining up the pup? lol  When she (3mons) has an accident in the crate and I try to clean it up, she won't leave my side and will lick the soapy suds and what not.  So I was wondering if chaining her up a few feet away, so I can clean, would be alright for her.  I tried it today and she wasn't having it by no means, and was trying to bite the chain...not to mention she bites her leash as well.  Shes not to big on the whole collar leash deal altogether, we find walking her without the leash is better.  I don't plan on EVER chaining her up all day, but might need some time to clean up the kennel or do something outside to the house.

Which leads to the next question...boxer owners do you have a fenced in back yard? We don't and so far haven't had to worry about her straying off into other yards or taking off to the front yard...is this something that will change as she gets older or will she always stay in her yard?

We've always had a fenced in yard and if outside of the yard they have always been on a leash. Leash training is a slow process. You might just leave the collar on while you are home. Then, just attach the leash and let her get used to it. Use Treats to coax her to walk with you and praise lavishly and reward. Have you considered a basic obedience class?
It would greatly surpirse me if she doesn't take off to explore as she gets older.

Thanks for the kind reply, and yes we are considering obedience classes.  At least my fiancee wants to take her, I THOUGHT we could learn her.....but after last night I don't think so...we are gonna have to try an obedience class.  I have a feeling we can do only so much, and it will also help her around other dogs.  Last night was our 1 week with her....awwww.  She was a terrorizer.  She is definitely getting more used to her new surrounding as I find her doing more aggressive things day to day.  I have been trying the treat on a leash deal as we walk her, but seem to have better luck without.  Last night we took her to the nearest park and walked her...we used the leash around people and she wasn't having it...once we got out on the trail I took the leash off and she stayed real close....then when we went back by the peeps she still stayed close without the leash.  I hope we can get away without using a leash and just train her to stay close, but I think that is wishful thinking!

I myself do not have a fenced in yard either. As tempting as it is I have not dared taken her off the lead. She is 14 months old and I'm not so sure she would listen to me since I don't think she was trained off lead. However, I do know a couple who has two boxers who will stay in their own yard off lead. I'm not sure how they did it tho.

I think in any book I have read the lead comes first so you can teach them who is boss. Then you can slowly teach them, starting off in a fenced in area, to walk off lead.

that makes sense, but man does she hate her leash.  Oh how I hate how she doesn't listen, maybe I need to be stern and put her on the leash until I can get her to do what I want her to do and then let her run free.

What can I say....I'm nervous nelly!

It sounds as if she is becomming more acclimated to her surroundings and she will push the envelop to get her way.
By correcting her behavior in a positive way, you are not being mean at all.
She needs to know that you are the Alpha. I have 3 Boxers, Tanner is 9 y.o. old, Zammi is 6 y.o. and Pilot is 1 y.o. The only time the older two are off leash is when they are competing in the Obedience Ring. They are well trained and come immediately when called or told to "Drop". Pilot comes 95% of the time. I just wouldn't take the chance to trust him off lead.
