It takes 15 points to finish a Champion. Of those points, at least 2 of the wins needs to be worth 3-5 points. You cannot win more than 5 points at a single show. These 2 wins are called "major" wins. It was put into place to prevent someone from simply showing at 15 tiny shows with no true competition.

The amount of points a show is worth depends on the entries. The more dogs of that gender entered in the classes, the higher the points that show is worth.
