You should have him neutered. I would do it now before the hormones kick in and start any bad behaviors. Males and Testosterone can be a devil of a combination.

If he has one testicle retained, it could turn cancerous sometime in the future. If he only has 1, then he is considered a monorchid.

Having him neutered will make so many things that much easier :)

MONORCHID.  A term commonly used by dog breeders to describe a male puppy which has only one of its two testicles descended into the scrotum.  The correct term for this condition is Unilateral Chryptorchid: the term Monorchid refers to a male with a single testicle, which is a much rarer condition.  The testicles of male Bernese puppies can usually be felt in the scrotum by 5 to 6 weeks old, but in some other breeds they may descend a little later.  Veterinary surgeons usually advise castration of a dog which is not `entire`, as health problems may result if an undescended testicle is not removed.

Hi Melo... I would have your boy neutered as quickly as you are able. An undescended testicle can cause many other health problems, including cancer. I know there are probably several people here, me included, who have/had chryptorchid males.

I agree he should be neutered ASAP. It is a slightly more involved surgery with one undescended - more like a spay - but the recovery is still not that long and it's for the best.
