Hello, Ive been researching on getting our next dog and believe it will be the boxer. We've always had female dogs and was wondering if there are any big differences besides the obvious between male and female? Thanks, and hope to soon be putting up pics of the new member of the family.
Having had both Males and Females, I really think it depends upon the individual animal. I have had males who were nothing but big lover-boys and those that were more self possessed and even aloof. I've had very nurturing females and wild child girls. I now have 3 neutered males and each has a totally different personality. Hope you find just the perfect Boxer for you.

I've had two males and one female, as Christina say's....the males like to water trees, or bushes or anything that they can hike their legs on...
My first boxer (at the bridge) was a male, a big sweetheart, and at the same time a royal pain in the butt, LOL, and my heart dog....he got into more trouble.... my current male is a sweetheart too but didn't get into as much trouble as my frirst one did, hes 'my boy'... and my female, is the love of my life, ahem.... she was a wild child her first 4 years, she's pushing 6 and has calmed down a lot....
They all have their own personalities....I will always have both sexes...
I too have had both male and females. My experience with both is that I think that it depends on their personalities, not the sex. My first male was the sweetest dog in the world. The one I have now, Jake, is sweet also, but he is WAY more hyper. My first female was mellow, the one I have now, Lola, is too young for me to tell....but i beleive she is gonna be hyper also.
