Consider this a test and a strange sort of brag. LOL---well, perhaps a point of pride?
Application accepted by the AKC in October and officially published this month in the AKC Gazette, I took the plunge to register my kennel name. I have proudly bred under the prefix PawPrint Boxers since my first litter in 1995 which produced the first 2 home-bred PawPrint Champions. Many have since joined their ranks. My upcoming show pup is the 4th PawPrint-bred generation to carry my kennel name; PawPrint Time For A Boi Toi.
Toby is out of Cinnamon-PawPrint Expose' (co-bred & co-owned), she is out of Ch PawPrint's Seduction, and she is out of PawPrint Enjoy The Ride (pointed). "Queta" was sired by my own Ch Rosend's Booker T oh so many years ago.
Seen a tad in our breed, but mostly in some other breeds, I am witnessing lesser breeders using established show kennel names to try and pretend these are their lines. With the internet, it seems so many more doors are open. Both good and bad. The AKC rep I am dealing with says it will be Feb or March 2008 when this should be official for me. It will help guard against someone now, or later, trying to use my kennel name.
When I originally thought about this, I considered it a bit of vanity. But after years of hard work, dreams realized and dreams dashed, I see it as a type of protection. I am proud of the Champions I have bred and just as proud of the loving pets as well. The Rare White Flying Moose is one of my greatest joys to share <g>.

Congratulations Christina. This is definitely not a point of vanity. When your goal of breeding sound, healthy Boxers has been so well met, this is the way to protect your own reputation. Kudos!
