Rob and I were out today finishing up our last bit of shopping. Everywhere we went, everyone and I do mean every one who greeted us was with "Happy Holidays"!!! We responded with "Merry Christmas". We got 1 wink and a "you too". We were both getting perturbed because the reason for this season is Christ's birthday, right??? It's a sad day when we can't acknowledge it publicly for fear of offending someone!
16% of the public is making decisions for the rest of us! Why is the other 84% letting this happen? I respect other's beliefs. Why can't they respect mine? I let others celebrate their beliefs without putting a damper on their joy. Why can't I celebrate without the fear of offending those few that would just as soon put an end to my beliefs?
To make this Boxer related...upon our return, Samson, Delilah and Posey greeted us with the usual boxer dances of joy for our homecoming.
Merry Christmas, everyone! Stay safe.

When I was growing up, my father would be very steamed over people that signed things "Merry Xmas". LOL--no one in my Catholic family would do that. But dad explained that was x-ing out Christ. Not a cool thing to do when sending a greeting card to a Catholic family.
But that being said, I have friends whom are other religeons whom don't celebrate Christmas in the spirit which I do. I respect that and make sure their greeting card is Happy Holidays.
A little respect goes along way....................
