Phony Puppy Inquiry
Permalink

I receive a  large amount of puppy inquiries. Some are worded very suspiciously. Whenever I do a check on these suspicious queries, they tend to come up with an out of country ISP address. But miraculously they always insist they live in Kansas or somewhere else "American". I received an inquiry from someone whom clearly is learning a bit better about how to make themselves legitimate. They claimed a more family type of a home with 3 children.

Often times, the one part  that peels apart the illusion is when you ask for a local phone #. So while someone in Indonesia can claim they are in Colorado, they find it a bit harder to come up with a phone #. A suspicious inquiry emailed me yesterday and I asked for their phone #. Typically they either will not answer or simply claim they are currently traveling but assure me they could fly to my house at anytime to pick up a puppy.

This one wrote: "Our home phone number is disconnected  due to the instructions that my Doctor gave me not to pick calls because of my  ear drum that is bringing out fluid."

This person supposedly has a spouse and 3 children. I am guessing none of them are healthy enough to answer the phone ?

And as a veteran of ear problems, if your ear drum is open enough to be leaking, you won't want to do anything but lay in bed due to the pain.

I wonder if these people really think some stranger can fly to San Francisco, pick up a puppy, and leave without getting any hassle from you.

So I assume sitting at a computer, surfing the internet and emailing breeders would be out of the question?

I ruptured an ear drum many years ago. The pain was insane. But never once did my doctor tell me I had to disconnect my phone.  wink
