What do to in winter?

We are finally seeing perhaps the end of the worse of winter. Most everyone has had to keep their Boxers inside during these past few months.

What activities have you done to keep the fur kids happy during this time?

My Boys still play outside and go for walks with their coats on.
We usually limit their play time in the back yard (chasing and retrieving toys) to 20 minutes depending upon the outside temps.
They also go to Drop-In Claases at least once a week all year long!

Frazier loves to be outside playing.  I just limit his time, warm up breaks in between.  We use hoodies too, cute!
We just had a play date with his friends the Leonbergers (giant breed) yesterday.  Their coats are much better for the cold, but he hung in there pretty well.  He really enjoyed running on an acre of land.  And of course walks when we get a peek of sun and warmth.

Hubby and I have developed the fine art of throwing balls down the hallway so Brandi can chase them. LOL--not much room inside for more than that. However, in between rain drops, I have been taking the girls for 1/2 mile walks. I use a 26' flexi so they can bouce all over. I figure they walk 3 miles to my 1/2.

We have a good sized backyard, but it is all dirt. And with the months of rain we had, it was just a mud pit. I could not let the girls in it. Potty times had to just be in our pea gravel courtyard.

Today's weather was great, finally! So I left the girls out in the yard for the first time in months. I have no doubt they were very very happy.

My gang was severely limited on outsude time due to the rain as well. It has been simply gorgeous the last few days, and they have accordingly spent the warm sunny days out intheir huge grassy, sunny yard. I have caught them napping in the sun and just generally enjoying being outside on such a lovely day! The rain should be just about over for us till next winter, so there will be many yard days ahead!

Oh, and the kitties are enjoying listening to the birds through the screen doors, and smelling the outside smells since I have been able to leave the inner doors open most of the day!
