Hi all,

I have noticed the last 2-3 days that Frazier's top lip looks very red and dry/peely.  Like they are chapped and maybe a little swollen.  I don't know......He has been in for about a week, so I don't think the sun got him.
Anyone have this issue before?

PS- His spunk is back 110% and healed up nicely

Hi Patricia,

Usually my momma dogs get chapped from all the licking they do. Don't know if he's still licking... I use an antibiotic ointment or chapstick.

I definitely think it is from the licking he was doing. Momma Boxers get chapped lips all the time from licking their newborns. You can put a bit of vaseline on it, though he will probably just lick that off too :)

He did lick off the vaseline :)  and I bought some doggie lidocaine cream with something in it to deter licking it off------didn't work.  I tell ya, he's the lick master.  I hope it clears up soon though.  He has to get his stitches out on Wednesday, so I guess doc can take a peek at it if its still there.
