I am in search of some advice. We currently have 2 boxers. A female (Boo-Boo who is 3, you may remember her from her surgery prayers not long ago) and a male (Rocky who is somewhere around 6-8) we got Rocky at a shelter about 3 years ago, so we are not real sure how old he is. However he is starting to get some gray on his muzzle.
Anyway, a friend of my husbands' at work got a male boxer (his name is Bubba) He is 3 years old and a brindle, natural ears, docked tail boy. Anyway, she can not keep him due to her special needs child and asked if we wanted him. I am concerned about adding another male with Rocky being here. Also, Boo is a dominate girl, so that concerns me also. We also have 2 other inside dogs, a LBD(little brown dog 11 years) and a beagle mix who is 6. The two smaller dogs do accept others. My concerns are with the boxers.
Since Boo was still pretty much a puppy when we got Rocky, I was not concerned. But now that she is older and so is Rocky I have concerns to do this right, if it is to happen at all.
My question is: does anyone have any suggestions about introducing these guys to the possible new boy? I do not mind having another boxer ( what's one more?) but I dont want the babies that I have now to be put into any situations that may be bad. I was told that Bubba plays with a small dog (chihuahua) so he is social to others. Should I be concerned about 2 boys, especially with one being a bit older than the other? Any advice to help this go well? Thanks in advance.
With so many dogs, they have already established a pecking order. I honestly would suggest not bringing in a 5th dog. You are so lucky that things are working out now. My advice would be not to rock the boat.
