He is still young. I think you still need to give him time to fill out. It really concerns me when I see all these people wanting there dogs to gain wt, when most dogs I see are over wt. Did you know that research has shown that dogs slightly underwt. actually live longer than dogs at a "perfect" wt? What does you vet say? I bet he looks just fine.

yea vet says hes fine but all the books that i read on boxers they say that if you can see last 3 ribs that the dog is at good weight but i can see all of his ribs and he doesnt like his food so i think thats why hes skinny and i know that canidae is good brand food so i was just thinkin about switching him to a different brand and i dont want to feed him purina or any thing like that because i heard that they are not really high quality

Hi there-

Frazier was boney for a LONG time.  He is very active and tall so I think he burned up all the calories he took in :)  He is 1 1/2 now and was neutered at 1 year....he is just now starting to fill out.  BUT he still has a lean muscular look to him.  I agree that so many doggies are overweight.
We have had our share of GI issues and trials of different high quality kibbles.  We have been using Wellness venison and rice for a long time now and he loves it and his belly seems to tolerate it nicely.  For treats we use the whitefish and sweet potato (same brand).

Good Luck!

Patricia
