Hello everyone. it's been a while since i've been here but two 16 month old boxers keep me busy. And i need help!!! For the most part they are good dogs but their newest thing is chewing at EVERYTHING!!!! anything they seem to get their little paws on they chew. The problem is though lately they have started chewing at the walls. Last night they chewed up the frame molding to a closet door. Please help, i just dont know what to do to stop them!

Hi there-

It's weird b/c Frazier is now 1 and 1/2....and gets on these chewing sprees too.  During the time we would have expected him to chew, (puppy days)  he really didn't.  So........
I think its just being bored or trying to let me know he want MORE lovin!!!  lol.
I was leaving him free in the kitchen when we were gone for a while, but he started the chewing- so I started putting him in the crate again while we are gone.  He doesn't mind it, and it keeps him safe of chewing something harmful and of course saves household stuff :)
Even with all the favorite chew toys left around he still would prefer a favorite pair of leather pumps!!!!  lol
But have you tried stuffing a Kong?  I have a big one that I put lots of treats in and it keeps him busy for a while and if lucky tires him enough to rest for a period of time afterward.

Good luck and your not alone~
