Some of you recall us from the AOL board. We wanted to let you know on the afternoon of May 26, 2009, we helped Caesar end his battle with cancer.
We always called him our Angel Boy, now it is official. Caesar passed away in our arms with his favorite nurse Barbara, and our vet, attending. Our hearts are broken and the house seems so empty without his animated presence. Penny looks pitiful curled up alone.
Caesar was our first quote unquote, 'rescue'. He is the reason I began volunteering with boxer rescue. We have had boxers in our home since 1986, there were two girls prior to Caesar, and two girls since. Each one arrived power packed with their own personality and style!
Caesar was a kind soul who took all the other animals under his wing, well except maybe Shaddy cat, she wouldn't permit it. He was nanny to orphaned kittens, loved our Charlie cat, and welcomed every foster dog that has come through our home. Caesar had a sense of humor that often kept us in stitches and made us smile every day. He was always at our side offering comfort and companionship. He was trustworthy inside and out, never a problem, always a joy to be around. He loved boating and fishing, people, chasing lizards, cuddling with us or his sisters, his daily walks, and riding in the car. There were so many expressions on his face we always felt he was talking out loud. I believe he knew it too, LOL. We were his willing and devoted servants, thankful to be in his presence.
