Not sure if anyone has been following the story here in Ohio about the city of Lakewood tazing a whilte boxer claiming they thought he was a pit bull & being aggressive.
Of course it has infuriated me and other animal/boxer lovers~ the clear ignorance of the breed and what they are putting Otis through.
Well, today, after sitting in the city kennel for one too many days, they decided that they will spare Otis' life, thank God, BUT get this~ His owner has to agree to not sue the dumb city, because they were WRONG!!!!!, and that he cannot get his dog back until he moves out of the city!!! Such a load!!!! In the meantime, they say the pup will be in a rescue home.
Just needed to vent. It was huge here in Ohio.......petitions etc. I made sure to leave a piece of my mind on multiple blogs about the ignorance of the Lakewood police department.
Thanks for listening and I'm glad that Otis will live on!!!!
So glad his life will be spared! Tazing is being overused and is abusive, IMO. I don't know exactly what happened as I have heard a few different versions.

I hadn't heard anything about this story - but OMG now the police are allowed to abuse animals? The fact that they are releasing him, makes it clear to me he wasn't aggressive.
Thankfully he'll be spared, but boy he must be depressed after being in jail.
I am happy Otis will be able to live. I had heard about the owner having to leave the city though. This is what happens when we allow anti-breed legislation to become law. There is a pit bull ban in that area. Sounded good to a lot of people I would guess. Except that Boxers look like pitbulls to most of the country. And here is an example of just how misguided such a law is.
When I had Crystal, most people thought she was a pitbull. Plain dark brindle, black face, athletic build and cropped ears. While I never complained that her imposing look kept the weirdos away from me, I did make sure most nice people we came across were educated in what a Boxer was. If they said pitbull, I corrected them and introduced them to my social girl.
I have no doubt with my new puppy Ruby, I will be educating the masses all over again.
