Today Ruby and I did a road trip to Dixon, California, to attend the Northern California Working Group Association puppy match. In my quest to teach Ruby ring manners as well as meeting other puppies, I had to humble myself along her learning curve. Puppies have a way of stomping on our pride when it comes to matters of "control"
I am pleased to say that under long time Rottweiler breeder Ann Glynn, Ruby was given the nod for Best Puppy in Match. The club put on a fun morning and everyone was enjoying the antics of 3 white fluffy Sammie pups attempt to turn the show ring into a dog park.
Ruby and I were there solo so I was not able to take photos. And as the temps got into the 90's, I was happy just to make it back to my GMC's air conditioning.

Congratulations Christina and Ruby. I saw your post on the Show List. This is really a nice win for your up and coming, on her way to Champion, Girl.

Thank you Ladies. Ruby competed at my Boxer club's specialty match yesterday. No, she did not win. However the winner was a very handsome Telstar boy with an even nicer momma. They deserved it. After the match, we let the pups off lead to run their legs off. We were at a member's home with a very secure back lawn that is huge. The Boxer pups had a blast! They spent 2 minutes in a big sniffing pile, figuring each other out. And then they were off ! Round and round until their tongues were dragging. It was hysterical to watch.
Ruby was a good girl both with humans and dogs. She enjoyed visiting with everyone and laid at my feet during our club meeting. I was thrilled at such a great opportunity for her to learn social skills. And as usual, our annual puppy match had everyone leaving with big smiles :)
