Hi our 13 week old pup had some blood in his poo the other day!! It has us a little concerned. This and once the previous week we would a small bit if frsh blook near his poo.
He is in great spirits and has no obvious pain or discomfort. Any idea's of what this could be? Is this common in pups? He is due for his seconds vaccination this week and we intend to ask the vet then but if any of you have any info please share.
By blood in the stool, do you mean flecks of fresh red blood on the outside of the stools? Or dark tarry stools (sign of internal bleeding). Hopefully you mean the first option. THis is a common sign of upset stomach or colitis. Definitely check with your vet. It could be the food isn't agreeing with your pup or your pup is getting into something it shouldn't. Let us know.

I would do as Christina suggests, explain what's going on and make an appointment with your Vet and take in a fecal sample. Hope it is nothing to worry about.

The flood is fresh blood not old brown blood. He does nibble on sticks all the time whick could be one answer. He is up to date with all his working and we have just changed his diet as it was seemingly disagreeing with his stomach (lots of little poo's). Most recently his stools have been more solid and not as often which is a good sign, and i havent noticed anymore blood.
he goes to the vet this week for his vaccination so we will investigate with the vet too.
Fresh blood is worse than old blood. Seriously, take a stool sample to your vet first thing in the morning. If this were my Boxer, I would not wait. It is not worth it.
