Flat Stanley was a Laminated Cutout of a Boy.
It was a School assignment to send Flat Stanley to a friend's home who would then take pictures of Stanley and the Family doing things or going places that were of interest in that specific area of the Country.
That friend in turn would sent Stanley on to a Friend of there's  in a different State or even county to do the same thing as they did.
Flat Boxer or "FeeBee" was sent from Boxer friend to Boxer friend with an Album to add pictures of that area of the County and place of interest and then sent on, etc.

Wow i never noticed the flat stanly but i was actually asked to have a piture taken with a flat stanly for a friends little cousin who lives in the states somewhere. I am from Fort Frances, On Canada and had never heard of it until that day:) Really neat though
