I was reading this on another dog board..... just lurking...(pup is not a not boxer) and the topic was about, returning a pup back to the breeder.
In this persons post, they bought their pup from a breeder, at 8 weeks old, they have had the pup for 8 days, but want to give it back, (ahem) the older dog of the house, doesn't like the pup.
Nothing is wrong with the little pupper, it's completely fine and healthy.
The question this woman was asking her board was, could she get a full refund for the pup.
Have you ever had any fellow breeders have this kind of situation? Where the person, obviously is having buyers remorse??
I think it's buyers remorse, as it's only been 8 days, and they really have not given the older dog time to adjust...
I remember it took a while for Ginger to accept Stella, and when they finally clicked, they became each others shadows...
My answer is YES! I took a puppy back after 7 days. I learned a huge lesson about both spouses being in favor of a puppy before it leaves my house. Hubby had been a tad reluctant and all it took was this pup to nip him on the heel once to say OUT HE GOES! I took the puppy back immediately, gave them a full immediate refund and ignored the wife's tears asking for a 2nd chance.
For a pup only days out of the house, of course the breeder should give a full refund and be glad they have the position to rehome the pup in a better home.
