2 year old boxer showing dominance on other males??

Ive put a q up on "yahoo questions" to get other ppls opinions, however i know everyone here is a boxer parent so maybe you have exsperienced this.

Harley will be 2 this month, not fixed and yes has been around a female in HT.
I now notice that he's getting snarky with other male dogs. But only some. Cause there is a male puppy in my house (roomates) and in my building there're all male dogs and one female and he plays with them all with no problems.
However i took him to the park the other day he he started making all these horrible noises at this other dog and they kinda went at it but almost like a rough kidna play. Nothing serious happened, then we where at the beach the other day and a dog came over to us and harley didnt like that. He got right moulthy with the other dog making growling noises and barking kinda.
I was told it's cause he's not fixed...do you think it's too late to correct this as he is going to be getting fixed ASAP.
It's so weird cause my dog is terrified of men, wont go near them, any loud noise he'll freak out and run inside the house, he's just very timid and always has been. I know most boxers will great anyone and are hyper dogs, but harley wont go near you if he doenst know you. He's never had behaviour like this before so it kinda worries me why  he is being like this.
Any advise would be great!
thanks so much

I think I had been one of the ones that answered you on Yahoo. Neutering him will definitely help. That, and going to obedience classes. The classes are important for socialization reasons as much as obedience reasons. But you need to wait until after he is neutered and then a bit more for the testosterone to calm down in his body.

Guaranteed this will only get worse if he remains intact. It is typical alpha dog behavior. Been there and done that !
