Susan came over Monday evening for dinner, a visit and to see Toby. I am very happy to relate she finally found a new house!! This Sunday Susan moved into her new digs; a 2 bedroom house very near her old home.
Susan has not seen Scrapper in a long time. Since Toby lives with Scrapper and Holly, she has a family reunion. Susan is Scrapper and Holly's Godmother by virtue of helping me whelp their litters :)

Susan's own 2 Boxers are getting along much better now. Kennel life was not working well for poor Lacey. She had people visiting her daily but it was not what she was used to. She was getting sick from the stress. Susan happily reports both Cassius and Lacey are doing much better now they have a real home. They are eating well and looking great!

Thanks everyone!! Yes, we are settling in nicely. It was great to see Toby (such a gorgeous little boy), Scrapper, and Holly. I have a work committment that takes me just north of Christina every month, so it is really easy to stop in on my way home, to visit with her and the Boxer gang.
The house is wonderful, and I am gradually (actually fairly quickly) restocking. I now have two couches (one is even a sleeper), a small tv and dvd player (and a line on a nice 36 in. tv from a neighbor). I am still borrowing a bed from my brother until I get some bedroom furniture. But, my kitchen is now well stocked. I have beds for the dogs. I have 3 bookcases and an entertainment center. Christina also saw to it that I got a few Boxer related items, as well as a couple other lovely "knick knacks".
One thing I have found is that Cassius and Lacey are both very nervous when I turn on the heater (a wall heater this time), and both panic if the smoke alarm goes off (first time I turned on the heater- burning off all the dust). So, besides their long term stay at the clinic, the fire definitely affected them in other ways as well. We are all gradually healing emotionally, and forging ahead into a new life.
Things are looking up and I am looking ahead.
