I want to get a few peoples choices on the matter....we went looking last night at a few stores and weren't real happy with the smells of them. Do any of you use human shampoo and just dilute it with water? Let's please discuss!
I know some people use baby shampoo on their dogs, but human shampoo (especially if baths are frequent) tends to strip to much oil from the dogs coat, resulting in dry itchy skin and a dull coat. For freuqent baths, I would suggest a dog shampoo with calloidal oatmeal to retain skin moisture, as well as using a conditioner after the shampoo to help return moisture to the hair and skin. I have also noticed that dog shampoo scent fades rather quickly.

They make doggy cologne because some humans don't like the smelling of "dog". LOL---Personally I love the way my Boxers smell. It is like a comfy sweater smell :)

Since my puppy has such sensitive skin we used that liquid ivory dishsoap (the one with no added scents/colors/etc..) It doesn't seem to irritate her at all, and her skin doesn't get dry or flakey. We also use some of that biosilk stuff, since the vet said it was gentle enough to use and still return moisture and shin to her coat. In some organic stores they also have lotion specifically for puppies with sensitive skin, it smells great!
Another thing we've done: when we got the puppy she didn't have hair on her ears at all and we used vaginal creame with vitiman e (ew i know lol...) but it worked amazingly.
