Just purchased a boxer for my girlfriend for xmas and gave it to her early. Ginger is a new part of our lives since we have been together for 5 years in Feb. Ginger seems to be a little closer to me then to Nicole. I want to know if anyone wants to give me some new boxer tips. Some things I have noticed so far.

She crys when we leave, even for a min.

She growls at other female, not male, dogs

She loves to be in every room with me

Boxers are indeed velcro dogs. Always wanting to be wherever you are. At 16 weeks, she se emost other dogs as "litter mates" and if you've ever seen a litter of pups playing, they are rutheless!!! You need to ignore the crying when you go away, just do it with no fuss, and come back with no fuss. THe more fuss you make, the more anxious the pup will get.

Treat your pup like you would a 16 week old human baby. LOL--pretty darned the same thing!

A warm Welcome to you and Ginger.
Ginger is still a Baby and that being said, she just wants to be with you as all babies do.
Is she Crate Trained? How are you doing in the Potty department.
As everyone said, Boxer are very people oriented and love nothing better that to be with their owners.
Have Merry Christmas!

Welcome!
I wanted to crate train my Emma (now five years old) and hubby could not handle the crying. I feel for you. We did it without the crate. We called it pillow training..LOL She was house trained in no time since like BoxerSue stated they are Velcro dogs. I have had many other breeds of dogs and I have found that boxers (or mine) are more emotionally dependent on their families. My Emma is everywhere I am and wants to go everywhere I go. They are very loyal.
You are in for some fun for many years to come. Boxers are clowns and are puppy like for a very long time. My Emma still wants to play and rough house with us. There is nothing like a boxer. Enjoy!!!
