Daisy going to the vet
Permalink

Well I am going to take Daisy over to the vet today.  She seems to be having a problem keeping her food down.  She has been back on her kibble (Candae Lamb and Rice) for 3 days after I put her back on the chicken and rice and ithrowing it up again.  I also had put some treats in her crate this morning when I went to work and when I got home she hadn't eaten them.  She just now ate them and threw them back up.  I think she gobbled them down too fast.  I just don't know.  Her stomach is not tender, she is not acting sick at all.  I called the vet to check and they said to bring her in and we will check things out.  THe thing is she does not throw up everytime she eats.  None of this has ever happened until after I brought her home after getting fixed.  I wonder if that would have anything to do with it?   She has thrown up twice now about 2 hours after she has eaten and then has done some good old boxer burns in the yard.  I worry that it might have something to do with the rawhides I gave her when she was recouping for the 2 weeks after her surgery.  That was the only time I have given her rawhides but I was having a hard time keeping her calm.  I guess we will find out at 4:45.  wish us luck!

Oh it could be soooo many reasons. But the vet should be able to figure it out. I swear, there is very little difference from having a Boxer pup to having a human child :)

well we just got back from the vets. She didn't appreciate her temp being taken (haha)! no temp by the way. He doesn't think she has any blockage. He said he heard a lot of gurgling going on and thinks she has an irratated stomach. I have to give her 5mg of Reglan an hour before meals and then some Carafate (70ml) about 1 hour after the Reglan. Hopefully that will take care of it and if it doesn't we will have to explore something else. Hope it works! Daisy is currently tearing around the yard like nothings wrong. She hasn't lost any weight but hasn't gained any either. 45 lbs. Just thought I'd update everyone. Thanks for the good wishes!

Daisy is only 8 months old. Most of her growing is over. From here on out there may be a bit more height, but mostly just good old fashioned maturity. Enjoy her puppyhood while it lasts.

She may simply have excess tummy acid. Brandi gets that from time to time if she skips a meal. I use good old fashioned Pepcid-AC for those occasions. LOL--I am no good with what your vet prescribed. But I am sure it will do the trick :)

Hey Marian,

I swear Frazier and Daisy have ESP  LoL!!  He had an upset belly for a few days now with REALLY loud gurgling :).  I am looking for some over the counter Flatulex--Doc reccomended it.  Anyone know where to find it?  Can't locate it at CVS or Walgreens.  If I find it, and it works, I'll let ya know and you may want to keep some at home too!

Patricia

Hope baby girl feels better soon!

We all hope that this regimen of mediation will help your Daisy's tummy settle down.
I know how worrisome it is when one of the furkids is having a problem.
Keep us posted on how she is doing..... (((Daisy))) (((Marioin)))

Patricia, I googled "Flatulex". There are lots of online stores that carry it. Good luck and please do let us know how it works! We have 3 gobblers here that end up with gas!
