This past weekend, Toby had his first road trip for dog shows. Genie and I took him to Hanford where he showed for 3 days. It was his first hotel stay. He was great! Not a single mess in the hotel room, slept quietly in bed with either Genie or I, and was a wonderful traveler. The first evening we went to leave him, he started to bark in his crate. A few words of warning from me and he behaved. He never made a peep after that.
Toby won his 6-9 month class on Friday with competition. The next 2 days he moved up to 9-12 month and was a single entry. Each day he calmed down a bit more in the ring. By Sunday he held a wonderful solid stack during the judge's exam. Cheryl Cates had the handling honors this weekend and she did a wonderful job with Toby.
Genie and I hit Harris Ranch on the way back home Sunday for a wonderful brunch. Because we got there after traditional breakfast was served, I was "forced" to have top sirloin and eggs for brunch. Such suffering

Toby's next shows will be in 2 weeks at Vallejo. Thankfully that is a much closer drive than Hanford was. My little boy is growing up
