Leaving Daisy (Sob)

Well we have to go to a wedding in my husbands family this weekend.  We have to go down to the detroit area so we will be leaving Daisy with her trainer.  She will have the best care but I will really miss her.  This is the first time I have left a pet with someone other than family (because everyone is going to the wedding). I have all her food and blankie packed.  That is all Patty (her trainer) told me to bring as she has plenty of toys and of course other dogs to keep Daisy busy!  She will have 3 New Fondlanders, a lab (her age that plays real well with Daisy and just as rough- haha) a labradoodle and 3 little poodles and a dauchsund.  I don't think she will be lonely.  Maybe she won't even miss me?  But then again she will be crated at night. At home she sleeps with me and is only crated during the day if I am at work.  She likes her crate so I don't think that will be a problem.  I hope not anyways.  She is going to be there a total of 4 days, 3 nights.  It is going to seem really long to me (sigh).  I miss her already haha!  I will let you all know how things went when we get back.

DAisy will probalby have an easier time of the seperation than you Marion!! She will be kept busy and tired. You will just keep worrying about her... Doesn't seem fair does it? Enjoy your trip and really enjoy the greeting when you go to pick up your girlie.

I always have a terrible time leaving Voodoo too - whether it is with family or the trainer. She doesn't make it easy either, my little drama queen. As the trianer leads her away she strains to get back to me. Of course I call daily to see how she is doing and the reports are always positive, that she is playing like a lunatic, so they put her in her crate for a nap 1X a day, etc.

Of course when I come to pick her up, she is such a wiggle worm of excitement to see me! You would think that maybe she did actually miss me - but unlikely. Dogs live in the moment. While with the trainer and other dogs - she is playing and happy. When she sees me again, she is happy about that.

Doesn't make it any easier but thought I would try

Leaving your Furkid is always stressful..............but the situation that Daisy will be in sounds just perfect. She will have friend to play with and more than likely be pooped at night.
You have a great time at the Wedding and look forward to the wonderful greeting you will receive when you get back and pick Daisy up!

Hello Everyone! Got back earlier this afternoon. Daisy had a great time. I am now better that I am home. Ha Ha! We did have to stop and have the vet do a quick check because she had something on her neck that we were not sure what it was. Patty (her trainer) and I agreed I that it should be looked at to determine that it was not a hot spot. The vet confirmed that it wasn't , just some good old hard boxer playing and probally caused by getting nipped in the neck in the same spot a few times and it got a little infected. So a quick antbiotic shot and a bottle of antibiotics and we are home and all happy! She did eat and threw it up again. Patty said it only happened once at her house and it was just some liquid and she didn't do it again. Mine was right after she ate. I am going to put it down under excitment and gobbleing her food too fast when she got home. I will still keep watching though and hopefully we won't have to make another trip to the vet later this week. Anyways we had a great time. Daisy had a great time (she was very good by the way) and we are all very happy to be home!

It's fun to go away, but always nice to come home again. I'm glad everyone had a good time. Hugs to Daisy!
