Ear Crop Care Question

Hi everybody.  I just have a quick question re: ear care.  My Cody got his ears cropped about 3 wks ago, and I like to remove the bandages prior to his next taping appt to save him some stress since he gets pretty anxious at the vet's office. I was just wondering if it is safe to leave his ears untaped and flopped(his ears stand straight for about 12 hrs before flopping) for more than a day in order to give him some freedom from his bandages, or should I wait until the day he goes back in for the re-tape?

I usually unpost the ears and let them rest for 24 hours before posting again.
I keep the ears posted for a week to 10 days before changing the tape and post itself.

I take down ears in the morning and back up that night. I have had better luck not allowing the pup to sleep on unposted ears. I usually post 4-6 days at a time. Down for about 12 hours and back up again.

Everyone has a different way :)

I do the same as Christina, down in AM, back up in PM, change the tape & post every 5 or 6 days. Every dog is different & everyone tapes different. It all depends on the ear leather, if its thick or thin, and how long of a crop it is. You have to do whats best for his ears..
Then teething changes everything....!!!
