Thanks for having this board to talk about our babies! We have 2 boxers Both Fawn. Maximus Russell and Lilly Ann! Max is almost 3 and Lilly is 1 . As of last Monday WE ARE GRANDPARENTS!! 8 Healthy grandpuppies. Mama Lilly is doing so fantastic at being a mother I couldnt be more proud. We wanted to wait a few more years for grandpups but they decided they couldnt wait. Our kids sleep with us and have a big back yard . They get the last 2 bites of everything!!! They are so cuddley and friendly. They really love eachother also!! If anyone has any suggestions to 8 new puppies added to the family we are ALL EARS! As this is our first time breeding : P
I cant wait to share all the great stories these two babies have brought to our lives PEACE Amanda
I am assuming that this was an accidental breeding??? Usually Boxer Females are not bred before the age of 2 years after all the necessary testing is completed to rule out heart, thyroid and hip problems. Your Male at 3 year old has obviously had this Testing completed. I hope all the puppers are well and that you are looking for excellent homes for them with Spay/Neuter contracts.

Hi Amanda, and thanks for asking questions. We are here to help and answer any & all questions you may have. There are some VERY helpful breeders here. As for the breeding for your "1 yr old baby", glad she had some healthy puppies and I assume a uneventful whelping. Beverky is right, she was far to young to breed, most responsible breeders do not breed their bitch until at least 2 yrs old and only have the proper health testing, not just vet checked. The proper health testing can not be done until 2 yrs of age. Please do your research, and the best place to start is the American Boxer Club website. It's full of useful info.
What done is done, so I hope you will find some wonderful, loving homes for these babies, on a spay/neuter contract . We have way to many boxers in rescue for unwanted boxers, for any reason under the sun. Please screen the new homes for these babies.
I have to say that a 1 year old Boxer puppy having puppies is not something I personally support. You are quite fortunate she survived the whelp and so far has no problems. However, she has no health testing and so is a genetic question mark at this time. That concerns me greatly as to her future and the future of these puppies.
Your male is old enough to have at least had his health testing done. Have you done all his health testing?

Hi Amanda. Welcome to BoxerCentral. Please don't be put out by the comments regarding your litter. WE all love Boxer puppies, but our first concern is for the breed as a whole. Accidental breedings happen, and we can not change what is done.
Now is a great time for you to learn about responsible breeding practices, how to select forever homes for those puppies, puppy care, and what to look for in Momma to make sure she is doing well post whelp also.
What have you done with Momma and the pups since they were born? Tails and dew claws? Checking weights daily? Checking for hydration several times per day? Keeping puppies warm, clean, and dry? Give us a rundown, and we can give you some tips on things you may not be doing but need to, or things you may not need to do.
How is Momma doing as far as producing milk? Are all the nipples working? Are you checking them each day to assure there is no redness or swelling (other than from milk production) which could mean she has a case of mastitis?
