I've got some good news and some not so good news on Daisy's health issues. Good news is the mast cell is beneign. YEAH!!!! Not so good news is as much as I have tried ( and beleive me I watched her like a hawk or so I thought) she has licked her stitches open and a slight infection has set in. So back to the vet we went this evening and he re stitched her and gave her an antibiotic shot and sent us home with antibiotic pills and an antibiotic spray and this other stuff called "yuck" and a bigger cone! Hopefully all this will work. Knowing her she will probally like the yuck stuff! haha! So now we are back to 10 days with the cone and medicine. The vet was super nice about it all and didn't charge me for the re stitching just the medicine at his cost and re assusred me that it is hard to get them to stay away from a healing wound especially on the foot. So I felt a little bit better. Wish us luck on keeping her away from it this time ! I think she was getting at it after we were asleep. Hopefully the yuck stuff will keep her away from it. Thanks for all the good wishes!
I hope that the new cone and the "Yuck" will disuade Daisy from messing with that healing foot. They sure know how to keep us on our toes....let us know how she is doing.

Were you using a traditional plastic cone? I have been eyeing the new inflatable Elizabethan collars. They look like they will perform well and be far more comfortable for the dog. But they are not cheap! Then again I suppose multiple trips to the clinic aren't either so it evens out.
Sending get well wishes!!

Because they are chunky instead of long, it looks like the dog would be able to eat and navigate more freely, while not being able to turn the head enough to reach *some boo-boos.
The vet gave me a cone called "The Comfy Cone." It is soft and made of nylon. It can be folded back so they can eat and has reflection tape around the outside for walking. It is adjustable with velcrove or as in Daisy's case because she needs the larger one so she can't reach her foot, is attahed to her collar. You just run her collar thru the loops. The larger one is working much better and it is healing pretty good. Hardly any seepage (sp?). She doesn't like it much and keeps trying to shake it off. I will send some pics. Thanks for all the good wishes everyone!
She was a completely different dog once I took the cone off - and was not able to reach the incision on her hip - I agree it probably wouldn't have done much good on her foot though.
So happy Daisy is on the mend, and the prognosis is good.
